This post is going to be all about the animals the kids encountered over the weekend.

1) Fish
Tyler and Siena's Uncle David built a beautiful pond on Kristen's Dad's property a few years ago. He was getting the waterfall up and working as well as doing some other maintenance on the pond while we were down there. (What a talented guy!) There are some very pretty coy in the pond and the kids loved watching them swim around. Tyler especially loved pretending to fish with a stick in the pond.

2) Peacocks
Kristen's Dad has two peacocks and two peahens. They strut around the property and the peacocks fanned their tail feathers for the kids to see. And, yes, they are pretty, aren't they? We still wanted to shoot them! These bird kept everyone awake during the night time. They are SO loud! It felt as though the peacocks would wait until midnight, then sneak up right beside where we were all camped out and start calling as loudly as they could! Then they would repeat it every couple of hours to make sure we never got too much sleep at one time.
Tyler liked to get into the chicken coop and watch the chickens run around. Here he is making faces at them. He especially LOVED going out each day to the coop with his cousins to collect the eggs!
We had 3 dogs running around the whole weekend. Tyler and Siena love dogs, so they thought this was great! Here is a picture of their Uncle Justin with two of the doggies.
These were one of Tyler's favorite animals of the weekend, the baby chicks! He thought is was so much fun to hold them and watch all the little chicks run around in their boxes! It was pretty neat to see them fly with their tails trailing through the air behind them though!Silly, loud, pretty birds!

4) Cows
Well, cows, sort of... Last year Kristen's Dad had cows, this year, he has hides. The cows were butchered before Tyler and Siena got to meet them, but Tyler still thought the cow hide hanging on the fence was pretty cool!

I found it funny that Tyler was playing with chickens and collecting their eggs because I've been working on an ordinance in the City of Buffalo to allow people to raise hens in their backyard.
Hope the family is doing great. Good to hear that you got a new computer Kristen...get my brother on Facebook will ya?
